Ray Of Hope Of Northwest Florida

Welcome

Ray Of Hope is a 501 (c) (3), non-profit organization that builds wheelchair ramps for disabled people in Santa Rosa and Escambia counties in Northwest Florida.  The organization is named after Mr. Jimmy Ray.  Jimmy was a huge servant of Christ who saw a need and had the opportunity to fill it.  We are keeping his ministry alive.   We have been building for nearly 10 years.  We built our 300th ramp in July of 2011 and are up to 329 as of the middle of December.  We have built ramps as far east as Defuniak Springs, as far west as Walnut Hill and as far north as Century and Flomaton, however the majority of our projects are in Pace, Milton and Pensacola.

The only requirment is a disability and a need.  We have built for people as young as 2 years old and as old as 92.

We have tools and labor.  Our need is resources - lumber and/or funds and we can always use more volunteers.  Our ramps average approximately $20 per foot.  Don't think that if you only buy a foot or 2 that it won't help.  If several people buy a couple of feet of ramp, we can build some very long projects.  No donation is too small.

If you have a small group, committee, group of employees or just a group of friends, that are interested in doing a little work and receiving an incredible blessing, send a note to our email address. We can help.

The picture at the top of this site is our Christmas Eve project.   Pretty good Christmas present, don't you think.  This family has been through way too much.  The man is a recent amputee and had just gotten out of rehab.  It was a truly great day.

RAY OF HOPE IS AN IMPACT 100 WINNER IN PENSACOLA.  The meeting on the 16the was truly a blessing.  We're working on the details, but we can help a lot of folks with this money.

In conjunction with Woodbine United Methodist Church, we built 4 ramps in one day on Sunday, Octiber 23rd.  Visit our facebook page and see some of the pictures.  Our Impact 100 award was exactly 1 week before this.  We jumped in pretty quick!

We normall build one Friday, one Saturday and one other day each month.  Send me a note and I'll add you to the email list.
